MORE INFO
2008 Altima Sedan 52 "Sunshine and Happiness"
This amazing vessel is some kind of a unicorn…it may be the only one like it! Built jointly by Altima and Novatec in the same yard that Hampton and many other well-known vessels are constructed, this 52 was custom designed and made for discerning owners that wanted a stout, sea worthy vessel with all of the ship-like goodies that could still be handled by them singularly, as one of them had mobility issues.
The wide, covered walkways and large stainless grab rails make for easy and safe passage from the stem to the stern. High bulwarks add to the safety for passengers and handlers alike. Moving up to the flybridge, a hydraulic davit rated at 1000lbs lifts a notable dinghy. The high end acrylic glass surrounding the fly helps keep the AC from working too hard, while the downdraft Jenn-air grill and under counter refrigerator keep everyone happy. The pilot will be thrilled with a power Stidd seat and matching copilot seat. All of the electronics were upgraded November of 2022. 3 Garmin 8612’s, 2 new Icom Radios and so much more.
The hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, windlass, wind meter, Fin Stabilizers and all needed gauges are fresh and readily visible. Walking down the staircase to the cockpit, you’ll find the powered access to the engine room where you will find a 35 gallon per hour watermaker, 2021, 50A isolated and power-corded hookups, then into the AC cooled engine room where the Onan genset and QSM11’s reside. There you will also find the twin chiller system, replaced in 2023. Back topsides, one enters through a beautiful, heavy sliding door with a screen, and updated blinds, 2024. The salon has no step up, is level all through the kitchen area, and removable carpet (2022) keeps the teak and holly floors beautiful. Immediately inside, to starboard, is the very convenient day head. The power raising TV faces a wide and comfortable l-shaped settee with folding table. Bose whole ‘house’ system, Starlink, XM and so much more complete entertainment needs.
These surfaces redone in 2023. The kitchen has 2 subzero drawer fridges and 2 subzero freezers, one with ice maker (new 2024.) A GE profile convection stove/microwave resides under a Princess flat top cooktop. The sink (and Ice maker) uses Sea Gull water purifier filter. There is also a folding planning desk and lounge by the sliding starboard door. Down the staircase to the suites, you’ll find a huge storage area at the base that has ready access to the some systems. Both staterooms could be Masters as they both have full baths with walk in showers. The mid ship master has a completely private bath, whereas the bow stateroom has a second door to the bath accessible from the hall. Both have new smart TVs, and Bose sound system.
So much has been done to this yacht, as owner needed something to do! Also, he did not wait for things to break to update or fix. His mechanic was there monthly, at least, doing whatever he could find. It was imperative to him that this boat was turnkey and a safe vessel to take them all throughout the Keys and Bahamas. The previous owner did the Great Loop, so it was easy to keep things in fine operation. It has been used it very regularly these past 5 years, but since finishing the big trips, owner is downsizing. This boat is the nicest 8 knot cruiser, condo, marina princess, Bahama cruiser, Great Looper that one could imagine. It is ready to go today to the Bahamas, Great Loop, or anywhere one might dream.
Speed:
Saw 21+knots on our sea trial with 3 gallons of fuel and no water/tools/dinghy etc. After new bottom paint a week ago, no dinghy, full water, 1/2 fuel; it ran
18.4kts. Real world loaded/wind/current is 8-10 knots happy and running about 1 gal per Mile.
