MORE INFO
Hanses are known for their robust engineering, easy-sailing capabilities, as well as their stunning good looks – and this exceptional gently used model, PAX, is no different – with all sheets lead aft, and a self-tacking head-sail, single handing a high performance sailboat has never been easier!
Currently slipped on Shelter Island, San Diego - at the desirable Half Moon Inn Marina at Humphrey’s by the Bay – a slip transfer may be available (pending marina acceptance and approval).
PAX shows like a much newer vessel – as the hull remained factory wrapped and was not fully commissioned for her first owner until 2015. PAX has since been maintained to a high standard by her active owners.

REVIEWS:
"In comparison to mainstream production cruising boats, the Hanse 400 is an absolute performance standout, not only in its ability under sail, but in its ease of operation. The Hanse 400 presents the image of a well-trained athlete—strong, capable, and legitimately deserving of its billing as a “crossover” sailboat."
- Practical Sailor
"Even with the small headsail the performance was impressive. We clipped along at 5.5 to 6 knots on a deep reach and immediately sped up when we brought the wind forward a bit. Sail handling is a snap, and it won't be difficult for a reasonably experienced sailor to single-hand the 400 under most conditions, especially if an autopilot is fitted. The ability to single-hand a boat means that the designers nailed the proportions just right. We executed a few quick jibes before hauling the sheets in for a few tacks. The 400 came through the wind efficiently, pivoting on its fin in a snap. The acceleration was impressive, especially considering that a fleet of obnoxious powerboats had raised a decent chop."
