The Dehler 34 is an icon in sailing history. Back in 1986, the Dehler 34 debuted as the performance cruiser that would set the trend in a new design of boat. Based on the Dehler world champion yachts, the new model provided exceptional handling with comfortable living spaces for the cruising enthusiast. There is so much space on board from freedom of movement to headspace. The Dehler 34 design is a traditional sailing yacht with contemporary interiors. The well-known Dehler Carbon Cage is standard and lengs the hull 20% more stability allowing for sailing higher into the wind.
Commended for its comprehensive approach to performance and cruising features, the Dehler 34 has been nominated and won several awards. It was the winner of the 2017 Sailing Today Awards as well as the 2017 Cruising World Boat of the Year Awards. It was also nominated for the 2017 European Yacht of the Year. It's for these reasons that Seattle Yachts is so enthusiastic about being the official west coast U.S. Dehler Yachts dealer. If you're interested in building your own Dehler 34, please contact one of our offices in Seattle, Anacortes, and San Diego for more information on model availability and options.
Every Dehler Yacht follows the same philosophies of speed, safety, quality, and performance and the 34 is no exception. Here are a few of the attributes that makes this sailing yacht exceptional in its class:
For over 50 years, Dehler has been building high quality sailing yachts and have delivered more than 25,000 of these vessels worldwide. It's with this experience that perfection is achieved and its noticeable in the details of the Dehler 34. The exterior design stands out in a crowd and is unmistakably Dehler. As with all Dehler Yachts the deck is clean with every sail, winch, and rope properly stowed in their own compartments. This is one reason Dehlers are so fun to sail and spend the day enjoy the sea.
Easy sailing is one of the cornerstones of every Dehler model and that starts with the basic equipment. For example, the German Mainsheet System allows for the mainsheet to be taken on both sides directly to the helm, ensuring that everything you need for maneuvering is within reach. Self-tailing winches are also standard and all cleats, rollers, and other details are positioned perfectly for convenience and space. The exterior of the 34 has several notable features including:
The central socializing area in the salon uses its space remarkably well thanks to crafty design, unique shapes, and ingenious space saving methods. There are multiple windows and skylights that open for great ventilation, a must-have on longer voyages. Additionally the interior also features:
The standard layout for the Dehler 34 is a two-cabin boat with the master being in the bow. Placed aft at the transom is another cabin and a large storage room. Owners do have the option of changing that storage room to another cabin. The large bow cabin features a double v-berth. As with all Dehler Yachts, owners have a variety of colors, fabrics, and materials to choose from and personalize their sailboat.
