Nimbus Commuter 8 Details

 The Commuter series from Nimbus Boats has proven to be a functional, yet stylish option for every day boaters. The new Nimbus C8 combines an open, walk-around design with excellent moveability, large windows, abundant storage, and outboard power. Enjoyed as either a day boat for water activities or as a commuter boat for transportation, the C8 is a slightly smaller option to its other Commuter-series siblings, the C11 and C9.

"Despite the smaller size, we have prioritized space that makes it easy to get on or off and move onboard," said Joacim Gustavsson, chief designer at Nimbus Boats Sweden AB. "The trick with the C8 was to build in the same high level of functionality and flexibility as the C9 but in a smaller hull."

The Nimbus C8 foredeck features a multi-functional area with seating that can be transformed into lounging or driving-mode, depending on the circumstance. The light and spacious cockpit offers plenty of natural light thanks to its extra large glass doors, the sliding glass roof hatch, and the openable aft deck hatch. The boat can easily be transformed from closed to open within seconds. In addition to creating a light and open boat, the large aft glass hatch makes loading and unloading the boat easy and efficient, as well as improves communication with guests on board from inside or outside.

The aft deck has space enough for up to 4-5 of your friends and family to sit and enjoy. There are side benches and a foldable aft sofa which makes the aft deck adaptable as needed. This is an excellent area for socializing, a loading place for luggage, or space for boating activities like fishing or swimming.

When out driving, the Nimbus C8 offers comfortable seating for both the captain and guests. The swivelling cockpit chairs can easily be turned towards the passenger sofa and the table extended to a full dining table. The passenger sofa can be converted to an extra bed for two children or one adult. The forward cabin has room for a double bed, a separate head, and a kitchenette. The top of the cockpit is equipped with integrated loading arches, which helps transporting larger items such as SUP, kayak or surfboards etc.

The Nimbus C8 can be powered with Mercury Verado V8 outboard engines in either 250HP or 350HP models. The C8 can reach top speeds of over 40 knots, while cruising comfortably in the 30 knot range. The standard engine is the Mercury Verado F250 XL EFI DTS V8 in Fusion White.
