Javier grew up sailing Sunfish and Comets on lakes in Northern New Jersey and power boating on Long Island Sound. From an early age he realized being on the water brings people together and enhances their well-being. While working abroad he was introduced to keelboat racing and cruising the coast of Spain. Javier has also cruised and chartered in the Caribbean, Southeast Asia and up and down the west coast and to Hawaii.
After pursuing a career in finance and policy he turned full time to the boating life. In addition to obtaining a
USCG captain’s license he also holds various sail training certifications and is involved youth seamanship training through Sea Scouts.
