S/V “Breanker” is described as a limited edition, custom build, Alex Simonis design, two hull, auxiliary powered, sloop rig sailing catamaran of approximately fifty-five feet overall. The vessel was originally constructed in South Africa by ETA Boats and commissioned for the crew charter market in the Caribbean. The hull shows performance catamaran cruiser lines with plumb stem sections, fine forward entry, generous full length beam, outward canting vertical hull sides and sugar scoop transom sterns. The vessel shows a fractional sloop rig and aft cockpit design. Hull color is white with black accent trim striping, black bottom, light gray decks, blue sail cover and white canvas awnings. BREANKER Logos show on the hull sides forward.

Breanker is a strongly built 55 foot catamaran, built in South Africa for offshore sailing and has sailed from there to the Caribbean, a good and fast sailor. In the Caribbean, she has for a number of years been one of the most booked catamarans in the luxury charter market, where she is still active.

She has more than enough room for the large group both on and below deck. The spacious saloon with plenty of room for indoor dining and sofa arrangements as well as a combined writing and navigation station and entertainment department with TV, video and radio as well as a bar. Also access to shared day toilet with shower.

There are quadruple cabins with plenty of space, seating arrangements and a private toilet and shower, which ensures privacy for everyone on board. Amidships to port there is also a single cabin, suitable for an adult or child. Furthermore, in the bow on the starboard side, there is a double cabin with toilet and sink. To starboard is the kitchen, which is well-equipped to that extent with a large refrigerator and two large freezers under the kitchen table.

In addition, a gas stove with four burners and an oven, and in addition also an electric oven and double sink with both a salt water tap and a fresh water tap, which gets its fresh water from the built-in watermaker that produces approx. 70 liters per hour.

On deck is the spacious cockpit with direct access from the salon. There are the two steering stations, each with its own steering wheel for optimal sailing performance. There are also two coolers, one of which is electric. The entire cockpit has a sun tarpaulin.

The aft deck has a bench with plenty of space to put on a snorkel and diving equipment which is at home in the large storage spaces in the bench. There is also an electric drinks fridge. There is easy access to the water on both sides of the sugar scoops with a ladder down into the water. Two fresh water showers, one on each side. Large gas grill mounted on the port rail.

The foredeck is dominated by two very large trampolines, with a center cushion and a bean bag chair on each trampoline. There is also a sun tarp for the trampoline. In addition, there is a built-in pulpit on both sides of the bow. On the rough deck is a large sun mattress and a built-in chair for the rough deck. Again lots of options to either prefer to be together as a group or to be a bit private.

The dinghy is a 14 foot solid bottom inflatable with a 40 HP Yamaha outboard motor.

Construction

• Molded, resin bonded, fiberglass reinforced, hand lay, carvel joined, polyester resin composite laminate with “Airex” foam coring for stiffness and gel coat surfaces showing painted polyurethane top coats.
• Frames: The hull is supported by a series of transverse bulkheads constructed of composite foam core laminate showing continuous ring bonding with fiberglass tabbing to the hull interiors and deck head. 
• Molded fiberglass box beam trusses and three full span bulkheads serve to join the hulls and support the bridge deck. 
• Molded box frame longitudinal beams bonded to the under wing stiffen the bridge structure. 
• All furniture is also of molded composite construction showing fiberglass secondary bonding to the hull interiors for additional support. 
• Interior surfaces show fresh painted polyurethane finish.
• Bottom: Displacement V configuration showing fine forward entry, integral, hollow, appendage type, molded keels in modified full length design with cut away fore and aft, soft chine sections and skeg mounted rudders. 
• Keels: Molded fiberglass construction, showing primary bonding integral to the hull exterior. 
• The keels are hollow showing no ballast.
• Rudders: The rudders are of molded fiberglass construction with foam coring for shape.
• The rudders show full skeg support with bronze lower shoes supporting the lower portions. 
• Stainless steel rudder posts are supported by molded fiberglass rudder logs extending upward to well above wetted waterline. 
• The logs show plastic bearing support.
• Topsides: The topsides show slightly canted/vertical hull sides finishing at an aft sloping/straight sheer line. 
• The inboard sections show continuous primary bonding to the bridge deck under wing in typical gusset fashion. 
• The hulls finish in sugar scoop transoms showing molded steps for water access. 
• The step sections show hinge lid access to wet storage areas within. 
• Fold down stainless steel swim ladders are mounted on either stern platform.

Deck Construction

• The decks are also of molded fiberglass composite sandwich construction showing roller applied, painted polyurethane non-skid surfacing.
• The deck and cabin trunk show integral molding in fiberglass reinforced plastic, supported from below by bulkheads and cabinetry. 
• The deck system joins the hull at an over lapping hull showing continuous fiberglass tape bonding both inside and out.
• The hull foredeck sections show welded stainless steel pulpits outboard followed by large deck hatches accessing a double crew quarter on starboard and machinery compartment on port. 
• An athwart-ship extruded alloy (mast section) beam is through fastened between the stem heads to support the head stay. 
• A longitudinal alloy beam on the centerline extends aft from the cross beam to the bridge deck. 
• Vinyl trampoline sections are lace fastened between the outer hulls and support beams. 
• The bridge deck follows showing equipment lockers on either side of the centerline with access through hinged lids accessing the ground tackle. 

Deck Layout

• Comfortable wide walkways following aft show on either side of a raised deck saloon. 
• The cabin shows aft raking wrap around, fixed wind screens covered by black “Textilene” sun covers. 
• The cambered side decks show stanchion mounted dual lifelines outboard with welded pulpits fore and aft and rail gates fitted amidships port and starboard.
• The side decks terminate at sugar scoop transom sections showing step access to the water. 
• The step sections show hinged lid access to wet storage areas within the stern quarters. 
• Abaft the cockpit is an athwart ship bridge deck showing deck access storage lockers containing dive gear and refrigerated storage. 
• Steering gear and rudder post access is arranged in the after sections of these lockers. 
• The deck additionally shows aft facing manual davits for lifting the tender. 
• The aft cockpit area shows molded, forward facing seat sections in U configuration surrounding a dual pedestal, expandable teak dining table on the centerline. 
• The athwart seat section aft shows propane locker and gear storage within. 
• All seating sections are fitted with custom covered foam cushions. 
• A molded hard top is fitted over the center section of the cockpit. 
• Sunning deck sections lie to port and starboard outboard the cockpit seating. 
• Vinyl wing style sun awnings extend outboard from the hard top. 
• Roll up sun curtains are fitted to the after side of the cockpit hard top. 
• Dual helm stations are positioned in the outboard sections of the cockpit at the forward bulkhead. 
• Access to the deck saloon is through sliding doors fit forward on the centerline between the helm stations.

• The vessel shows a fractional (7/8) sloop rig employing a single, extruded alloy, double diamond, double spreader deck step Bellamy spar fitted with alloy boom.

• Cross beams, trampoline support and boom are also heavy section extruded alloy construction showing polyurethane paint coatings.

• The rig is supported by adequately dimension stainless steel (DieForm) 1X19 wire rope showing swage end terminals at the uppers and Norseman mechanical terminals at the deck level. 
• The rig attaches to the hull through stainless steel chain plates that are through fastened at the hull sides. 
• Running rigging is all low stretch Dacron double braid line.

Accommodations

• The vessel is configured for charter operations showing four (double guest) sleeping cabins, a single pilot/guest berth amidships on the port side and one double crew quarter in the starboard forepeak. 
• The primary living space and guest accommodations are entered through a sliding glass door located forward in the cockpit. 
• The forepeak crew quarter shows access through a deck hatch. 

Salon

• The main saloon spans the bridge section of the vessel forward of the cockpit. 
• The saloon area shows aft facing, upholstered settee surrounding an expandable dining table, lying forward under the windscreen favoring the starboard side.

• Two aft Guest sleeping cabins are mirror image identical, arranged in the stern sections of each hull. 
• The cabins each show queen size double berths lying longitudinally inboard with storage cabinets, dressing settee and lockers outboard. 
• En suite enclosed head areas are located in the after section of each cabin each showing electric marine toilet, cabinet mounted wash basins and molded bath tubs.
• Mirror image Guest sleeping cabins are arranged in the forward sections of each hull.
• The guest cabins each show longitudinal configured queen size double berths inboard on the bridge deck, storage cabinets, dressing settees and lockers lie outboard with en’suite, enclosed head areas forward. 
• The head areas each show Lavac electric marine toilets, cabinet mounted basins and wet type showers. 

Crew Cabins

• CREW CABINS: The Pilot cabin or additional single guest berth is located in the amidships section outboard in the port hull. 
• The double Crew Quarter is accessed through a deck hatch forward in the starboard hull. 
• The area shows a double sleeping berth with storage under in the aft section.
• A manual marine toilet and small wash basin are located forward in the space.

Galley

• The Galley is arranged amidships in the starboard hull.

• The Lavac Electric aft guest toilets and the manual Par “day head” fixtures are vented directly overboard.
