Seattle Yachts has always been committed to delivering the best experience possible to our customers, no matter how difficult the situation. On March 16th, we made the decision to officially close our sales and services offices until further notice. As you may know, we have grown exceptionally in the last two years and our team now stretches from Seattle, to San Francisco, to San Diego, to Fort Lauderdale, and even to the Philippines. We are incredibly proud of our team and want everyone to practice an abundance of caution by remaining at home and staying healthy. It wasn't a difficult decision to make for the sake of our staff, but it was a hard one to grasp as our boating season was just beginning.
As we reflected on what business would be like from our own homes, we began to look at the virtual possibilities. Our sales team continues to work, keeping in touch with their customers and checking on their well-being. We've held weekly meetings through apps like GoTo Meeting and Zoom. Even though going to a physical office was out of the question, our passion for boating never wavered and we have noticed that with our customers too. New listings and price changes are reflected on our website daily. We also have continued to offer some of the best ideas for keeping that passion for boating alive during a difficult time.
Our Seattle Yachts Content Manager Bill Parlatore said it best in a recent article called "A Healthy Distraction":
"If we stay calm and follow a commonsense approach with proper precautions, we will get through this, whether it takes weeks or months. The instability of our world and economy will return to normal at some point. We’ve been through this before. As one social media post put it, “Our grandparents were called to war. We are asked to sit on the couch and watch Netflix. We can do this.”
However, it is almost spring, so I offer you a mental break with something else to think about. In many parts of the country, it is time to get one’s boat prepared for a new boating season."
While we can't offer you predictions on what's to come, we can offer a mental break from the daily COVID-19 updates. If you haven't already, please check out the following:
