The Nimbus W11 (Weekender 11) is a just-over-40-foot Scandinavian day-to-weekender designed to turn short trips into easy mini-cruises. It centers on a highly flexible cockpit - modular lounge and outdoor galley beneath a big T-top - paired with Nimbus’s signature “sidewalk” asymmetrical deck for safe, easy movement. At anchor, folding side balconies and an optional hydraulic swim platform expand the living space and bring everyone closer to the water, while below decks two cabins sleep four with a proper heads compartment for real overnighting. Built on the proven stepped hull shared with the T11/C11, the W11 runs twin Mercury outboards (V8 300s or V10 400s) for 40-plus-knot performance and relaxed cruising in the 20–30-knot range. In short, it blends social space, smart ergonomics, and genuine cruising ability for families and friends who want fast, comfortable coastal weekends.

Seattle Yachts is proud to be a Nimbus dealer in Maryland, California and the Pacific Northwest. We currently have two Nimbus W-11's in stock:

How does the Nimbus W-11 stand out from other weekenders?

Its blend of Scandinavian practicality (sidewalk deck, storage everywhere), social smarts (convertible lounge, big galley, canopy system), and real performance (stepped hull, 40+ knots) is rare in this class. For many owners, it will extend not just weekends, but the boating season itself.

  • More room to live and move. The W-11 adds a bigger aft lounge, multiple sunbeds, an expanded galley, and tons of deck space you can reconfigure for cruising, dining, swimming, or shade-time.
  • Terrace-style add-ons. Folding side balconies widen the cockpit at anchor; an optional hydraulic swim platform extends aft of the engines so everyone is closer to the water (and boarding from fixed docks is easier).
  • “Sidewalk” deck layout. Nimbus’s asymmetric, wider starboard side-deck makes fore-and-aft movement safer and frees cockpit space; it’s a signature of the 11-series that the W-11 leans into.

Nimbus W-11 deck layout: Built to relax & entertain

The cockpit is the heart of the Weekender 11. A generous C/L-shaped lounge to port wraps a clever table (hinged/spinning sections for easy access), opposite a proper outdoor galley with a two-burner cooktop, sink and deep drawers (plus optional extra refrigeration under the co-pilot bench). A T-top with electric sunroof and a smart canopy system can quickly transform the open cockpit into a weather-protected “temporary wheelhouse” for shoulder-season cruising.

Up front, the raised foredeck sunpad and wide, well-guarded side-decks make it simple (and safe) to move around under way or at anchor.

Water access is a highlight. Many buyers choose the wrap-around hydraulic bathing platform that encircles the outboards; it lowers at the stern for a semi-submerged lounge, or raises to meet high docks - controlled from a key fob.

Three well-protected seats sit behind a big windscreen; sightlines and ergonomics are excellent. Factory and dealer options are deep, including Simrad NSX/EVO3S displays, Mercury joystick with Skyhook, autopilot, VHF with AIS, HALO radar, Zipwake automatic trim, a Quick bow thruster, and Quick MC² gyro stabilizer. Together, they turn close-quarters work and long passages into simple, repeatable routines.

The W-11 also offers EcoDeck (a sustainable, non-fading decking material) and optional solar panels on the T-top paired with lithium power — nice quality-of-life upgrades that reduce generator time at anchor.

Below decks: A Weekender that you don't dread sleeping on

Below deck, the Nimbus W11 delivers a genuine two-cabin, four-berth layout built for real overnighting: you enter via a sliding companionway beside the helm into a bright forward cabin with a permanent double berth, large hull windows and an opening skylight; opposite sits a full heads with an electric toilet and a shower compartment that closes with a curved screen, while a separate mid-cabin aft sleeps two and includes ventilation and useful storage.

Scandinavian-style light woods and clean joinery keep the spaces airy, and sensible upgrades—like an extra cabin-level fridge, air-conditioning, and a generator—extend comfort at anchor. The result feels roomier than many 40-footers thanks to the raised foredeck and increased headroom below.

Hull & performance: Fast & versatile

  • Twin-stepped, deep-V hull (shared with the T11/C11) delivers low planing thresholds, efficient cruise, and an easy ride in short chop — very much the “Scandi GT” feel Nimbus was aiming for.
  • CE B10/C12 certification, burly hardware, tall guardrails, and that asymmetric sidewalk deck all contribute to safe movement on board. The optional gyro takes the twitch out of beam seas; Zipwake and Mercury’s Skyhook make trim and station-keeping largely push-button.
  • With 2×300 hp Verado V8s, BoatTest recorded 46.1 mph (≈40.1 knots) top speed, with detailed fuel burn/range figures across the rev band.
  • With 2×400 hp V10s, independent tests reported around 49–50 knots in light conditions — reassuring headroom if you boat with heavy loads or in fast tidal waters.

What are the captains & journalists saying about the W-11?

BoatTest.com: "One of the tag lines from Nimbus concerning the W11 is, “Extend your weekends.” To that end, she is well-equipped to do just that. Given her exemplary layout, amenities, power options, and her being built for those with active lifestyles who want to get where they are going quicker and go further, she more than fulfills that notion."

Lakeland Boating: "You will find this yacht is adept as the platform for many activities: Exploring the coast, sunbathing, swimming, socializing, hosting a lunch or dinner party, and simply relaxing. Onboard features include folding side balconies, adjustable seating arrangements, multiple sunbeds, a gyro stabilization system, a spacious galley, and two berths and a large head below."

Power & Motor Yacht: "Regardless of speed, the boat trimmed herself. Augustin explained that Nimbus is keen on making the driver experience as uncomplicated as possible and that was the case. The W11 is easy to operate, comfortable and well-built. (Every Nimbus is not just built to CE and ABYC standards, but is tested and certified by Det Norske Veritas, which is one of the most renowned marine certification agencies in the world.) She may have been designed by Swedes, but with her folding side balconies and all the seating and sunpads, she’ll make a great platform for entertaining a crowd in the U.S., or with her two spacious berths, allow for a weekend aboard. Whereas the C11 has already attracted buyers in North America with her enclosed pilothouse, the W11 with the air moving below her Targa or through her optional sunroof, should be very attractive to buyers in America’s warmer climes."
