The new Nimbus Weekender 12 (W-12) is the next-generation flagship of Nimbus’ day-cruiser “Weekender” line - a 41-foot, 7-inch Scandinavian performance boat designed to turn ordinary weekends into long, comfortable escapes with family and friends. It sits at the heart of the new Nimbus 12 Series, combining the proven stepped hull of the 11 Series with over 200 refinements to comfort, ergonomics, and social spaces.

The W12 takes the hugely successful Weekender 11 concept – fast, open, sociable – and refines it for owners who want more space, more protection, and more ease of use without stepping up to a full cabin cruiser. It shares the air-lubricated twin-stepped hull and low planing threshold of the 11 Series, delivering efficient cruising and reassuring handling at speeds above 40 knots.

Like all 12 Series models, the Weekender 12 offers accommodation for four in two double cabins, allowing you to cruise comfortably for a long weekend rather than just a day trip. With capacity for up to 12 people on board, it’s equally at home hosting a crowd for a sunny afternoon at anchor.

What can you expect from the exterior, walk-around design and deck layout?

One of the most noticeable changes on the Nimbus W-12 series is found on the aft cockpit where you and your guests will congregate several times a day, from breakfast to evening cocktails. Here are some of the notable features on the W-12:

• A new extended swim platform with double-mould construction is structurally integrated into the hull. This brings you closer to the water, makes boarding easier, and gives more space for swimming, tenders, and water toys.
• Thicker 40 mm stainless-steel railings, a polished chrome Nimbus logo in the hull décor, and updated detailing give the boat a sharper, more upscale profile alongside the dock.
• Aft seating wraps around a central table, with new side cushions and aft-deck seating arrangements that let you quickly convert storage areas into extra seating.
• An aft deck shower and updated deck illumination make life at anchor more comfortable, from rinsing off after a swim to enjoying warm evenings in soft light.
• On the starboard side, the W12 features a fold-down balcony, opening the cockpit straight to the water. Drop the balcony at anchor and the whole aft area becomes a terrace – perfect for lounging, swimming, or launching boards and kayaks. 

The Nimbus W-12 features a Targa canopy which is a new superstructure on the boat inspired by the Nimbus 32 Ballista, blends classic Nimbus DNA with beautiful, modern lines.

• New custom Nimbus helm seats feature enhanced lateral support and ergonomics to reduce fatigue on long passages.
• The driving position, instrument layout, and sight lines are optimized for comfortable running at higher speeds, with large displays and intuitive controls.
• For close-quarters maneuvering, the W12 takes advantage of modern control systems:
• Mercury Joystick Piloting is available with the outboard packages, combining joystick steering, engine control, and integrated bow thruster to make docking much easier, even in wind and current.
• A new windscreen wiper system improves visibility in rough weather, while updated illumination – inside and out – enhances both safety and ambiance.
• An optional hydraulic swim platform for the outboards can be specified, acting as a water-level “beach” at anchor and a passerelle when stern-to in tight marinas.

What accommodations does the Nimbus W-12 have?

The Nimbus Weekender series certainly lives up to its name by having comfortable below deck accommodations to sleep you and another couple through the weekend.

• Two double cabins (forward and amidships) provide sleeping space for up to four people, making it practical for couples, families, or a small group of friends.
• A separate heads compartment (toilet/shower) offers the privacy and comfort you’d expect from a capable 40-foot cruiser. (Configuration inferred from the stated berths and the established W11 layout.)
• Finishes and layout follow Nimbus’ typical approach: calm Scandinavian styling, smart storage solutions, and details that make living aboard simple rather than fussy. The emphasis is on easy movement, logical stowage, and spaces that work in both day and night modes.

What are the power options on the Nimbus W-12?

Nimbus has given owners a variety of power options on the C-12 and T-12, but the W-12 only comes with outboard power. Here are the engine options that owners can choose when custom ordering their own boat:

• Mercury Verado V8: 2x300HP (standard package)
• Mercury Verado V-10: 2x425hp
• Volvo Penta D4 DPI: 2x320hp (only available on Nimbus C-12 & T-12)
