The Nimbus Tender 12 (T12) is the open, walk-around member of the new Nimbus 12 Series – a 41-foot, 7-inch premium day boat and versatile tender designed for owners who want one boat that can do almost everything. It takes the spirit of the popular Nimbus T11 “walk-around for all activities” concept and pushes it further with a stronger build, more protection, and smarter social spaces.

What can you expect from the exterior, walk-around design and deck layout?

The Tender 12 is a full walk-around design, giving safe, level access from bow to stern – a layout Nimbus is known for on the T-line. On the starboard side, the T12 now includes a fold-down balcony. Drop it at anchor and the cockpit opens out over the water, extending the social space and creating a perfect spot for swimming, lounging, or launching boards and toys.

The result is a deck that feels unusually large for the boat’s length – very much in the spirit of the T11’s “space for up to 12 people to socialize or take part in activities,” but with more refinement and flexibility. Here are some of the features on the deck of the T-12:

• A new extended swim platform with double-mold construction, integrated into the hull for a more solid feel and a closer connection to the water.
• Thicker 40 mm stainless-steel railings and fresh hull décor featuring a polished Nimbus logo, giving all models a sharper, more premium profile.
• A new aft-deck seating arrangement with side cushions, turning former storage zones into genuinely comfortable extra seats.
• A new aft-deck shower and updated exterior illumination, making time at anchor more comfortable and evenings more enjoyable.

What to know about the T-top on the Nimbus T-12.

Together with the walk-around layout, this T-top setup makes the T12 feel like a true “any weather” day boat: open and breezy when you want it, but with meaningful protection when the sun is strong or the weather is less than perfect.

• The T-top is wider and longer than before, dramatically improving shade coverage for the helm and cockpit and giving the boat a fresh, more assertive profile.
• Integrated solar panels are built into the roof, helping support onboard electrical systems and reducing reliance on shore power or long engine-running times.
• Acrylic sections with sun-blocking treatment let in filtered light while still offering protection from harsh sun, combining practicality with a modern, technical aesthetic.

What is the helm station like on the Nimbus 12 series?

At the helm, Nimbus has rethought the driving experience across the 12 Series. With up to 425hp and a top speed over 45 mph, you can bet the driving experience will be controlled, yet exhilarating. For docking and close-quarters maneuvering, the T12 uses the same advanced control options as its siblings:

• New custom Nimbus helm seats offer improved ergonomics, better lateral support and high comfort, specifically designed to reduce fatigue on long days at the wheel.
• The boat benefits from improvements in ventilation, lighting, sound routing, and serviceability, making it easier to live with and maintain over many seasons.
• With Mercury outboards, the boat can be equipped with Mercury Joystick Piloting, integrating engines and bow thruster into a single joystick for intuitive control.
• The Tender 12 also offers Volvo Penta D4 DPI inboard options, complete with an optional assisted docking joystick package, for those who prefer diesel inboard power.
• An optional hydraulic swim platform for outboard versions brings guests right down to water level and can double as a passerelle when stern-to.

A new windscreen wiper system and updated illumination across the range further improve visibility and safety in poor weather and at night.

What are the power options on the Nimbus T-12?

Nimbus has given owners a variety of power options on the T-12 and C-12, but the W-12 only comes with outboard power. Here are the engine options that owners can choose when custom ordering their own boat: 

• Mercury Verado V8: 2x300HP (standard package)
• Mercury Verado V-10: 2x425hp
• Volvo Penta D4 DPI: 2x320hp (only available on Nimbus C-12 & T-12) 

For the first time, the Tender 12 can be fitted with twin V10 425s, delivering serious performance for owners who want maximum speed and power. This range lets owners prioritize outright performance, long-range efficiency, or the characteristics of diesel inboards, depending on their cruising style.
