Hanse 418 Details

The Hanse 418 is an exceptional luxury cruiser for the owner or couple who wish to sail themselves with ease. At just over 40-feet and with the Hanse Easy Sail System, the 418 can be easily maneuvered under almost any condition. All of the hallmarks of a great sailboat are here - fast, agile, flexible under different conditions, durable hull, and comfortable interior accommodations to rejuvenate after a long day on the water. "Enjoyment Without Limits" is how the Hanse Group describes the 418 and they haven't missed the mark. There are stark contrasts between the purebred performance racer it has the pedigree to be and the luxury sailing yacht that the interior refinements accomplish. The 418 is both aggressive in its exterior lines, yet elegant and contemporary.

As with all Hanse Yachts, there are an incredible amount of customization options available including personalizing your layout, the wood used in the interior, furniture, fabrics, colors, and equipment. Every Hanse is unique and truly your own personal sailboat. Seattle Yachts is with you every step of the way as you go through selecting out the options.

Hanse delivers fast, fun, easy, and comfortable sailing with the 418 in a flawless execution that only they can deliver. The Hanse 418 breaks all standards in her class and completely re-writes the rules for what it means to own sailing yacht. Every voyage will be more special than the last, whether alone or with company, as the 418 allows for easy solo sailing. Hanse has succeeded once again in designing a home on the water with performance and your comfort in mind.

There are many characteristics that make the Hanse 418 a unique and special sailboat:

  • The rig is high on the 418 which allows for a large sail area at the masthead. The wind is normally stable at this height which can increase the speed of the vessel while also maintaining good balance.
  • The Hanse 418 has both a steep stern and a straight stem. This design attribute provides a long waterline at any heeling angle which results in superior speed.
  • The sail has been trimmed for better performance and there is a backstay included which can also be easily adjusted. This enables both the mast and the profile of the sail to adapt to the wind as it changes.
  • Hanse Yachts invented the integrated self-tacking jib system so all the lines go to the helm. Captains can now sail alone or enjoy more of the time with guests on board without working so much.
  • The deck of the 418 is very smooth and clean. The halyards and sheets are hidden below deck.
  • You have the ability to control the entire Helmsman system from the cockpit.

The main deck of the 418 is all about sun and space. Ropes are cleverly stored away into the side deck leaving no obstructions in the way  near the helm and seating area. Two couches and a fold-down table offer a great place to enjoy the weather or have lunch al fresco with a view. The hydraulic swim platform lowers to the water making tender launching easy, but also provides a near-water place to sit and gives the impressions of an extended cockpit. The deck of the Hanse 418 is a pleasant place to be thanks to the designers meticulous efforts to keep it clean and tidy.

The salon and interior common area is a pleasant space with lots of indirect sunlight, good circulating breeze with the hatches open, and a soft, calming palette of colors. The hand-crafted furniture fits neatly within the design and there is plenty of storage space for longer trips. Hanse has installed handrails on both port and starboard sides, but they almost look like accents with the design. The galley is equipped for preparing meals for a couple of multiple guests with refrigerators and ample counter space for this size sailing yacht.

The lower deck accommodations can be personalized by selecting one of three layout variations depending on your boating plans. All wood, fabrics, and colors can be hand-picked by you. The Hanse 418 offers up to 6 bunks and generous sized bathrooms. The owner's suite is spacious, bright, and again has good ventilation.
