Ted Griffin, Seattle Yachts, Principal
A lifelong boater, U.S. Coast Guard licensed 100 ton Master and Certified Professional Yacht Broker (CPYB), Ted bought his first boat more than 40 years ago. From 16 feet to 50 feet, power and sail, he’s had all manner of vessels at one time or another. In fact he’s never been boat-less since that first purchase. He’s cruised the Pacific Coast from Mexico to Canada, the Atlantic from Maine to New York, raced sailboats in San Francisco, and done many bareboat charters in the Caribbean. Currently he lives aboard his 40 foot trawler at Shilshole Bay Marina. It’s a short three-minute commute to the office!
Ted’s tips:
“If you're looking for a North bound stop over before crossing the Strait of Juan de Fuca consider Port Hudson Marina in Port Townsend. The well protected marina is a great place to spend the night or wait out bad weather before crossing the strait. It's a short walk to the historic center of Port Townsend and the new Northwest Maritime Center adjacent to the marina. Port Townsend has many historic attractions and restaurants. When you're ready to depart the Strait of Juan de Fuca is right at your door step.
