Meet Our Crew

Judy Nasmith, Partner and Managing Broker
Joining Seattle Yachts in 2008, Judy is widely established in the Pacific North West as a specialist in coastal and offshore cruising sailboats. Originally from South Africa, Judy has been sailing and racing since age 12 and was a past Hobie 16 Woman’s National Champion.
 
Judy holds a 50 ton USCG license and her experience includes several offshore passages as well as living aboard her Valiant 47 for 5 years. She currently enjoys cruising in the Pacific North West with her husband Paul in their Nordic 44.
 
A yacht broker the past 12 years Judy has built a well-respected and trusted following. Especially well known as a buyers agent she has expertise in Robert Perry designs in particular and quality offshore cruising sailboats in general – working extensively with brands like Valiant, Tayana, Caliber, Nordic, etc.
 
Judy is also the organizer of the annual “Perry Design Rendezvous” and has conducted the “Women’s Boating Seminar in the North West since 1998. We’re proud to announce that Judy has become a partner in Seattle Yachts in 2009 and is our Managing Broker.

Ted Griffin, Broker
A U.S. Coast Guard licensed 100 ton Master, Ted had spent over 25 years as a commercial real estate broker in Seattle and San Francisco, where he spent most of his free time on the water in various sail and power boats that he has owned. He’s also lived and sailed in the Caribbean, the Atlantic, and Pacific coasts in addition to the Puget Sound.
 
After his children became independent Ted decided to follow his passion and get involved in yacht sales where he could combine his love and understanding of boats with a technical expertise to best serve yacht buyers and sellers. He’s now in his second year with Seattle Yachts.
 
Ted currently lives on his trawler with “Nikko” his Cavalier King Charles spaniel at Shilshole Bay Marina. He reports that the commute to work is great: 3 minutes walking, one minute by bike. Not your typical Seattle commute!

Karen Palmer, Broker
Karen is the latest addition to our team, representing Seattle Yachts in the San Juan Islands. Karen has been sailing for many years and is also an accomplished wind surfer. She now cruises the North West with her husband aboard their Fisher Pilot House ketch.
 
Karen lives on San Juan Island where in addition to being a broker she continues to serve as an official in the Friday Harbor Sailing Club. Judy and Karen sailed as a team and won the Hobie 16 Women’s National Championship in the past. They’re still a great team!
